This sandwich shop is a true Amsterdam classic! It's the best place to get a kroket, but they also have delicious sandwiches with different meats. Some of my favourites: kroket, rosbief and ossenworst.
Great brunch cafe in de pijp. They serve Middle Eastern style food and have many vegan and vegetarian options. It’s always busy, but the wait is never too long.
Best apple pie in Amsterdam! Do I need to say more? They are open all day, and serve lots of other things as well, but I obviously recommend the apple pie, with a hot chocolate on the side.
RIJKS is a Michelin starred restaurant located at the Rijksmuseum. The modern Dutch cuisine restaurant serves beautiful dishes all with local ingredients. It has a modern interior with a very relaxing atmosphere.
Café de Jaren is a casual and “gezellig” cafe, with a terrace on the water. Great place to go for a coffee with cake, lunch or a quick bite to eat at night.
A lovely neighbourhood restaurant in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid. They serve traditional Balinese food. When you have time I recommend eating there, but they do take-away as well.
I highly recommend trying some Dutch Indonesian food when you’re visiting Amsterdam. Kantjil & de Tiger is an excellent restaurant to do this, located in the city centre. Go for the classic rijsttafel which consists of many side dishes served in small portions, accompanied by rice prepared in several different ways.
De Pizzabakkers is one of my favourite pizza places. It's a casual place where they serve great pizza and one of the few places where the tiramisu is almost as good as my mums (iykyk)! My favourite pizza is the 'spinaci'.
I love getting a coffee at the Koffie Salon in the Utrechtsestraat, because the atmosphere is great. It's a no laptop place, with a long table where people just sit together, enjoy a good coffee and read a magazine or newspaper.
A brasserie style restaurant, which is open all-day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's always very lively and it has a fantastic terrace for outside drinks and dinners in the summer.
